Sacred Kingfisher

I was out birding yesterday and was fortunate to see a few Sacred Kingfishers. The weather wasn't the best for birding, as it was overcast with smoke from the bush fires also adding to the dull light.

Nikon D500 with 200-500mm lens

OOh, so that's what this bird is! I've seen photos of one somewhere else and I never knew for sure what it was.... Lovely bird! That beak suggests it means business, though, and gets him the food he wants....
