While visiting Charleston, SC last week, we went to see the Charleston River Dogs. They are part of the South Atlantic 'A' League. Minor league baseball is fun to watch since you can pretty much sit where ever you want and while the play is not quite pro quality, it is fun for the kids.

Here the River Dogs score the winning run in the bottom of the 8th.

I was mainly trying to get a ball-on-bat shot. It is as hard as you guys say. This was the closest I was able to get. The ss is 1/2500 and I still didn't freeze the ball.

Another decent shot but no ball on bat.

Thanks guys.

Vince - what was your shutter speed? I'm curious to see how high we need to go to feeze the ball and bat.

Going to take Jr. to a Independant League game next week. You can't beat going to these games for the price and the seats. Gonna try out the newly acquired sig 70-200 (thanks jupman) and see what I can get as far as B on B.
