yup, great looking spot for a cast or three
You really need to try this Jim....come on...you know you want to cast a line...

I would love too, and may eventually. But salmon fishing requires different tackle than I have.

There's just too much to see & do in Iceland for only 1 trip.

I agree, but my wife is one of those "been there, done that" folks.

That image is really beautiful to me.

Oh my! VERY nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, folks.

Rolf, to be honest, one of those guys was using spinning gear. :(

I used to fish the catch and release waters of the South Platte at Deckers, CO. That is an unusual stretch because the native insects are quite small and thus the flies we used were the same, 18s down to 22s.
After a morning of wading that water I was almost too tired to drive home.
What a great experience seeing a trout rise to a dry fly.
I do miss that time.

Must have been baetis (blue wing olive) or midges. I love to fish to midge hatches.

My fishing partner tied flies for the local shops and I could barely tie the smaller ones on the tippet, let alone tie the damn flies.
Man, I miss those mornings. Fishing wets or streamers just doesn't have the same adrenaline surge for me. And coffee never tasted as good as the one at the end of the morning.
