Same battery as...?

Has anyone used earlier en-el 15 batteries in their Z? Like from a d800, 750, etc.? Are they compatible?

Yep...using the D500 en-en15, no issues as well as using wasabi, Promaster and Bower third party batteries. All work fine in the Z6 I have.

I've used EN-EL15's, EN-EL15a's, and 3rd party EN-EL15's in my Z. All work just fine, which is fantastic and a smart move on Nikon's part IMO.

I have one EN-EL15 left from my old D750 that works just fine in the Z6. I can’t tell any difference in run time vs the EN-EL15b’s...

I’ve been using the EN-EL 15 batteries I have in my Z6 with no issues.

I have used en-el15, ela15, and third party batteries all without issue. My understanding is that you only with the EN-ELB can you charge in-camera.

Lots of EN-EL15 batteries in my kit, half OEM, half Wasabi. All work just fine in the Z6 and Z7, with about 20% reduction in shot endurance, mostly because of draw from powering the EVF and back display.
