Our summer home is just south of the Mantoloking Bridge and Brick pictures in the link above and just north of Ortley Beach.... its been almost 2 weeks since the storm and I still can not believe the destruction that was caused... That new 'inlet' that formed at the base of the Mantoloking bridge is actually just about fixed by the Army Corps of Engineers... amazing. $10 million dollar ocean front homes were decimated in BayHead and Mantoloking... unreal..
We are still not allowed on the barrier island to assess our damage. All oceanfront homes in out community are destroyed and beyond repair... Reports are our street had 4-6 feet of water.... its going to be sad to go there when we finally get access.... supposedly next week by police escort bc both north and south access roads have been washed out or there are homes in the road that need to be cleared... as well as sink holes everywhere...
