On my recent trip to the Grand Canyon we passed Seligman, AZ. I saw this locomotive idling on a track. At first I thought it was the Santa Fe locomotive that I had in the Lionel model when I was a kid. It turned out not to be, but I still took the shot.

Mike,

Very nice photo indeed.

I always thought the Santa Fe paint scheme was the classiest of all the railroads. Especially with that war bonnet face.

The Santa Fe and the Burlington Northern merged to form the Burlington Northern Santa Fe. Or better know as BNSF.

What you have captured here is really cool. The first unit shows the old Santa Fe paint before the merger. The second unit shows the old Burlington Northern paint before the merger.

Nice catch………

Thanks for the photo,

Gale, Thanks for you kind words.

Bob, I think I took the picture for you. I knew it would be interesting to a train buff. Thanks for your comment.

Looks to me like the second unit is in the new BNSF colors. Traditional BN color was green.
