At full power how many watt seconds is the sb800 rated?
I've never seen an external flash's power defined that way. It's always in terms of Guide Numbers.
The sb800 has a GN of 125 at iso100.
The sb600 has a GN of 98 at iso100.
Is there anyway to compare it to say an AB400 in terms of light output? I know all strobes are defined by there Ws. What does the GN of 125 at iso100 translate to?
I have no idea, but if you move your question to the lighting forum, I'll be one of the studio guys will come up with an answer.
After a little research, it appears there's no direct conversions between watt seconds and guide numbers. You might find this article interesting.
Thanks very informative.
