  1. Hey everyone, looks like a lot of Cafe members participated today in Scott's Worldwide Photowalk (23 Aug 08)....post your pics as a response to this thread....
  2. Boston Photowalk Pics

Here are some pics from the Boston I Photowalk (there were two). The rest can be seen in my Flickr set. C&C always welcome.

    1. The Park Street Church, near the Old Granary Burying ground where Benjamin Franklin is NOT buried, despite a Franklin family obelisk (he's in Philly)
    NIKON D300    ---    40mm    f/7.1    1/320s    ISO 200

    2. The Swan boats in the Public Garden, they've been running since 1877.
    NIKON D300    ---    55mm    f/4.5    1/5000s    ISO 640

    3. The Statehouse, designed by Charles Bullfinch, was completed on January 11, 1798.
    NIKON D300    ---    17mm    f/7.1    1/2000s    ISO 640

    7. A neat curved window on Pinckney Street reflecting the building across the street.

  3. Sonya, those are great! Love the fisheye effect, one of the folks today had one, but there wasn't time to try it...
  4. Fun photos! OK, guys, I've gone ahead and stickied this thread.....

Looking forward to seeing all the neat photos everyone got on their respective PhotoWalks!
  5. Thank you, Chris! I don't have real labels for my photos because we've only lived here a month, and I don't even know where I was on a map,. More on my flickr as always, I took over 200 shots today so I'll be adding all weekend I think.

If you ever get a chance to play with a fisheye, you'll have to have one, so test according to your budget, LOL!
  6. Thanks Connie, should be fun to see!

Way to set the bar high folks

Chris that toddler photo is really great. The look on the childs face and the water drops are amazing.

Sonya your fish eye shots put my poor attempts to shame. when I got back and was showing my wife my attempts she said "Aww you didn't use that @##!** fisheye did you". She doesn't have the same affection for that lens that I do.

Vinman looks like you had the same bright sunlight we had here today. I was cursing the sun hoping for just a hint of a cloud. however you did a great job getting shots. nice use of selective cooler in that one shot. I am not generally a fan of it but it works really well in your shot.

I hesitate to add my attempts for fear of dragging down the thread. but hey I had fun and I am looking forward to learning from all the shots from the event I will see.
  9. I'm sure yours aren't as bad as you think they are....POST SOME! My husband doesn't like the fisheye either.....I always have to do a corrected version of the fishy photos for him to appreciate them. I really had a great time, and met a few really nice people as well. I hope to do a few more walks with them in the next year while we're here.

  12. WOW! Talk about FUN! We had our walk in downtown Dallas - a place I haven't been to but maybe 2 or 3 times. We were at the West End area - and talk about opportunity! I learned a ton, found new friends, and had so much fun, I wanna go back! Here's a sample - I still have a bunch of photos to go through.

my first attempt at something like this one!

  13. cool Dianne, is that the ball at the Fashion Mart or something?
  14. It's the Tower at Reunion Arena. I was amazed at the photo ops down there. I'm not used to doing architecture and such, but I certainly had a good time! I may post more photos but you can also go to flickr and see mine or go to flickr to the groups and check out all the Dallas shots.

OOPS! How rude! I forgot to say THANK YOU!
