Sea Gull and pilings, which do you prefer?

Discussion in 'Landscapes, Architecture, and Cityscapes' started by RonS, Sep 15, 2008.

  1. Sea Gull and pilings. Same bird, same pilings, different perspective.

    Which do you like better?

#1 (I lean towards this one, three sets of three)

  2. I go for #1. I think it feels more peaceful!

I prefer the tighter crop of #2
  4. Good shooting Ron; #2 is my pick. #2 brings you into the picture, much better composition with the #2 crop.
  5. #1. Odd numbers are always more visually pleasing. Middle, right, and left.
  6. Hi Ron,

    #2 is my favorite.
  7. Ron, nice shots but I vote for #2. Less distraction and I can focus more on the subject.

Hi Ron #2 is my favorite
  9. Thanks everybody. I appreciate the comments.

#2 seems to get the vote.
  10. Ron, let me start by saying that both are great but looks to me the composition is much stronger in the second one, perhaps because you have simplified the subject.
    Great exposure too!

number 1 make me focus on the pilings, number 2 focuses me on the total picture
  12. Thanks William.
  13. Thanks Lisa
  14. Thanks William. A mantra I keep forgetting: simplify, simplify, simplify.
