You have seen images from Jim Thiel, here are a few of mine. With the exception of one that is pretty much identical, I have tried to find a few "different" shots. These Eagles and Great Blue Herons come down to the Oyster beds to feed as the tide rolls out, on this day we had a -2.4 at a reasonable time in the morning. Strange part, we even saw Crows flying off with fish.

#3 From Beak to Talons - Jim showed the sequence. What was interesting is that often the birds just flew with the fish in their beak.

Bill you also have some nice "bits" here. We sure had a great day. Wish they had started flying a few hours earlier for the best light but we can't complain.

You guys hit the mother lode of action over there. Terrific set of very unique shots Bill.

Thanks, Louie. Maybe next year you won't blow us off for the beach, ok and your grandson ;) Even Morrie got a good shot or two!

Those are great. Great action, and I do love #2--it was nice those GBH to help out :)

Thanks. It is really interesting to watch the interaction between the Eagles, GBH and Crows. In general they pretty much just ignore each other, but when they don't he can be quite entertaining.

Thanks, Jim. As we talked on Thursday, the view from the beach is nicer, better backgrounds with a nice combination of the Oyster Beds and water. Next year we need to be more proactive in watching for best tides and times.

Pretty amazing at our timing on the fish transfer. Our shutters must have fired just about the same time. I am always amazed at how often that happens when we are out shooting. Fun day for sure.

Thanks, Lyndee, Andreas and Dude!

As to "best time to go", we were actually a bit late in the season, should have been going May-June when there was more Eagle interaction going on. Not sure much is going on now.
