I struggled with finding a foreground for all those red rocks and ended up using the roads more than I wanted.

I used to shoot places like this by just shooting the rocks and then grew into hating that kind of somewhat abstract look. For me it's a picture of a rock vs a picture.

Oh yeah - 3 does it for me too. Almost looks HDR. Love red rock country. Did you try any of the "crystal vortex therapy" up on top of the mountain for your back. I have a friend who swears that it works, but I confess that I ain't buying.

Randy very nice work, we visited there several years ago it's quite a beautiful area we loved the big church on the side of a mountain
