SF Zoo pics

I had a chance to go to SF Zoo a few weeks back...

Excellent shots.

Might I ask which lens you used. Think I should get off my duff and go to the zoo today.

There are 2 Golden Eagles I have been trying to photograph and could use some tipe. It is a bit dark and have a prob with that.

Any help on shooting and lens would be great.

D100 and 80-200 VR 5omm 1.8 or sigma 28-135.

I used D70 with 180mm.

I was lucky to have a bright day at the zoo, so i did not have to up the ISO.

For your case, I'd go with the 70-200 VR wide open and keep a tab on the dof.
Exactly what probs are you having? Focussing or not enough detail is the shadows?

Very nice shots. Well saturated and sharp. I wish I could get that close to the Eagles out here at the Lake Guntersville nest site, but that isn't likely (if I got this close, I'd probably be considered a potential meal....;-)).

Durgesh,

Prob is the light in the zoo and the background of the bird. Can't tell the cifference he blends so well.

The light that enters is to bright on the palm fronds and they blow and look awful

Man you guys have much nicer zoos than us. LOL........Beautifully done. Not a lizard fan but you did a fantastic job!!!! And of course Im fond of those birdies too!
