My Tokina ATX M100 was the 2nd lens I bought after purchasing my D70s some years back, after discovering that I wasn't good enough to take reliable portraits with my old 105 2.5 AIS w/o AF and metering. I hadn't done much close-up work, and figured the Tokina could fill in for casual portrait duty on the side.

So, just for fun, let's see your favorite portrait shots taken with a Macro/Micro lens!

Here are a couple of my favorites, all shot with the Tokina:

Shot this today while playing with the new lens. 1/[email protected]+flash. I don't recall for sure but this may have been shot with the Kenko 1.4x extended.

Glad I clicked on this! Stunners all of them. Wow! My neighbor in Granite Bay's got a purdy chocolate! Dusty shows some fine stuff, but Zoe, wow Zoe, that's a great pose you're striking there.

Yep, I wish the lens was that sharp in non-macro mode at the long end....if so I would own it. It did well at the wide end and in macro-mode, but had pretty severe ghosting at the long end....enough so I couldn't make pictures taken with it "pop". 24-85, reasonably fast, and with a built-in 1:2 macro mode is a killer combination....Nikon would do well to redesign and improve this lens and they would have the midrange popular-priced killer lens the D700 deserves.
