It's impossible for me to see any photo of a hummingbird without thinking of the images made by longtime Cafe member, Uncle Frank, now deceased for several years.

Your first image is made in the style I especially like with motion blur in the wings. Well done!

If you open the dropdown menu located to the left of the thread title and select "Share," you'll likely get more contributions to your thread.

here is a photo from the past. Aug 2005

Last week I had swarms around my feeder, this week they have all disappeared!

I counted 14 in this photo...I think. Blurs count as well as they are just to fast to stop with the shutter speed I had.

Here's a couple from today. I am just so happy to have them here. Hopefully hurricane Laura doesn't blow them away.

By Golly...I recognize them...so glad they made it to you safely :). You stay safe as well.

I figured you would!

Thanks, Bob. As the Hurricane goes, we got lucky here. In the Dallas area, we are only expecting 0.1" of rain now. The storm appears that it will stay just east of us.

Not so lucky for many, though. :-/

During my limited time with these little beauties, I have to get all I can.
The perched shot was early this AM & the feeder shots were during lunch break. I know, feeder shots ____. I'm so excited to have something fun to photograph that I just can't stop. LOL.

I'm still being entertained by your buddies, Bob - although it does seem to have slowed down a bit this weekend. We had a record low temp one AM this week & I was fearful that might push them further south.

I have a confession to make. Over recent weeks, I've been spending a lot of time with my Z6 & Z50 and really enjoying them. This weekend, I used primarily D500's. Ummmm..... I had somehow forgotten just how badazz the D500 AF is and it was a harsh reminder of just how much better the Z bodies will be, once they catch up. It was the D500 that caused me to sell off all my Canon gear and make the switch and I was brought back in touch with that experience again this weekend. It was a GREAT feeling.

These are from yesterday & today.
