I have been trying to improve my technique with my new 70-200. The following shots are handheld and range from f/2.8 to f/8 with iso 400 all shot with sb800 at 1/60th.

My question is do they look sharp to you? Am I expecting too much with VR or is my skill still not up to the lens capabilities?

    f/5 focus on nose

f/8 focus on petals lower right center

f/2.8 focus on petals but appears to be a misfocus to me

Do you have the grip for the D200?? If not, I'd highly recommend it for you slow exposure hand-held long lens shots. It really helps balance it all out.
