This Sharpshooter Bug was photographed hand held with a Nikon D7200 on a Nikon 105 mm macro lens plus a Nikon 1.4x teleconverter with its glass removed to make it an automatic extension tube. Flash is a Nikon SB500.

Great detail and color - nicely done.

Too bad Nikon hasn't updated their extension tubes. I've got the old ones (all metal) that I use with non-G lenses, but would love to have ones that worked with the latest 60 and 105 macros.

Nice shot of a cute bug. Did you pull the glass yourself or have it done at a shop?

I dropped the teleconverter breaking the glass. It was an old one and I decided to get the TC-14 E III to replace it rather than getting it repaired. Just removed the glass myself. Now I am looking for a damaged 2X teleconverter to make a longer extension tube.

Nice shot Jerry. That's quite a nice hand-held image. I would not be able to do that without my tripod. Great looking bug.
