I seriously doubt that the D700 fixing the vignetting of the 70-200vr/D3 combo sense the sensor is the same.....or essentially so. I'll find out tomorrow.....

I've run into my first problem: my Lightroom 1.3 and Photoshop CS3 Extended doesn't recognize and can't open the D700 nef's

By the way, there is definite vignetting with the D700 and 70-200mm @ 2.8 @ 200mm

My friend using a D3 get the vignetting even at 70mm, if he close down to f/4 it's gone.

    Vignetting control used as followed:

    vignetting.jpg

  11. looks like the vignetting control works by BLOWING OUT the rest of the picture
    i don't like that

  12. Wow Adam, that Vignetting is pretty bad! NikonRumors suggests that a new version will be available in September... I would think it would fix these flaws...

Oh, congrats on the D700! Very cool, and as you mentioned, a huge leap form the D80... Lots to learn!

Yeah I kept it was on manual @ 1/400th of a sec, so no varying shutter speed.
I purposely chose to blow out the sky to emphasize the vignetting.

Glad to see a fellow Albertan

    I got my D 700 a few hours ago and I'm making the jump from a D 80 too.!!

The D 700 looks and feels just great tomorrow it's off to the Indy car race to put it through a trial by fire.

  15. ah,
    i guess that makes sense

    thanks for the clarification
