I read on another forum or website that when you shoot raw with the D200 (maybe other Nikons too) you don't have to shoot raw+jpeg, because there is a medium jpeg imbedded in the raw file. Can someone tell me how to extract it? I believe Capture was required, but I failed to bookmark the thread, and can't find it now.

If you shoot just RAW, there is a jpg that can be extracted by a little prog.
But I can't remember the name of it
You do NOT have to shoot raw+jpg if you don't want to.

File Juicer does this for Mac OS X.

  5. BreezeBrowser Pro does it too.

I tried it out this afternoon; the jpeg is small, but perfect for 4x6 prints or email/web purposes.
