    Howdy,

I'm moving to a State I've never been to. The town is called Beaufort.

Please show off your N.C pictures here! Especially the coastline.

  8. Wow

    Linda...

I was just there. We left to come back to Virginia Tuesday. We were just a few miles down the road at Atlantic Beach. A friend at work has a cabin there. We visited Beaufort while we were there. The docks there serve a lot of recreational crafts/boats that you can rent/hire. We went on a catamaran trip from Beaufort to Cape Lookout, through Lookout Cruises. I highly recommend it! The captain and crew were excellent hosts.

If you like the coast and the beach-type areas, you will love the place.
(I wasn't crazy about the price of gas at some of the stations though)

They have a nice Aquarium close by. Small, but nice.

Here is a link to all the pics I took while there.

  9. I always go to Oak Island as well, so I've never been to Beaufort - but by the look of the photos on flickr, it looks amazing and I'd love to go sometime. Looks like you're in for a treat.

More inland, there are lots of hills, farmland, fields, beautiful houses, lots and lots of trees. We pretty much have all 4 seasons perfectly, so you'll love seeing how the trees change and the flowers bloom. About every 4 years or so (last 2 have been blah) we have an amazing winter with lots of snow and a little ice.

I'll have to get some of my photos together to post. When are you moving?

Thanks Don, I'm going to have to take a look at your pictures. I grew up near a coast and have missed it. I'm not exactly a beach bum, but we like strolling on the beach to see sunsets and to see sea life.

I've never been to NC so it's going to be very exciting for us. It does look amazing, where I live there's mostly trees and some farms. We've gotten tired of it and look forward to the change of scenery.

Our estimate is about 6 weeks but, we don't know for sure yet. At least it will be past tourist season!

very very pretty, I did enjoy it. Thanks for sharing.

  12. Like Paul, I am a fan of the North Carolina mountains, though I am not a North Carolina resident. Maybe we can entice you into a drive west, after you have become settled in your new home.

    The waterfalls are almost uncountable.

Roan Mountain, along the Tennessee border, is known for the catawba rhododendrron, that bloom in late June and early July.

If you like zoos, the North Carolina Zoo, in Asheboro, is a good take.

For a big city, you can make a stop in Charlotte.

With the coastline to the east, the mountains to the west, and lots in between, you should find lots of things to do and places to enjoy in North Carolina.

My goodness Cliff. Your images just blows me away. Maybe you offer waterfall-picture-taking classes? Just gorgeous colors and compositions.
