Since I purchased this outstanding lens, I find myself shooting portraits much more often then macro! :)
Besides I'm ALMOST ALWAYS shoot it at f/2.8 and don't have a need to stop it down, it's SHARP wide open already....

    Here's one of the today's candids :)

  2. That is a great example Igor. I haven't used the lens, but it does look to do a terrific job wide open. I would be interested to see if it does as well at Macro!

  3. Beautiful image, beautiful little girl.

Just bought my Sigma also. Have not had a chance to use it yet.

    Thanks for sharing,

Just bought the 150 a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it.
I had a Sigma 105 and Nikon 105 VR and like the 150 the best.

It is a fantastic macro lens, especially for insects, some call it the BUGMA...

What is the minimum distance for this lense to focus? As It's 150mm and is 1:1, and my Tamron is 300mm and is 1:2 and it focuses at 95 cm, so I guess Sigma would have to focus at about 25 cm?

It's probably the sweetest Sigma ever. I love mine too and always take it when traveling light

  12. Luis,
Great captures! I've been experimenting with this lens, but have not achieved anywhere near your results. Can you share your settings? How much did you crop/magnify/resize?
