Im thinking about buying this lens, would anyone here recommend it over the Nikon 20 1.8? Any samples? Thanks.

    Nikon makes a 20/1.8?

I just got my Sigma last week and am loving it so far. Nice build. Focus fast enough, and it's affordable!

    Nice job. I meant Nikon 20 2.8...

I've really not heard that much about the 20/2.8, but I am sure it's not a bad lens. Now some things to consider about the Sigma: I have heard people complain about it's size, which doesn't really bother me at all. And the filters it takes are pretty big - 82mm.

Build quality is great, as with the majority of Sigma lenses. And you have to decide if the push/pull mechanism of switching from AF/MF is for you. Again, something I don't mind at all.

I have it. Next to the 35mm f/2 it's probably my favourite lens. I like it because of the small size and useful focal length. There is some CA though, but that's easy to correct. If size is not an issue, and the IQ of the Sigma is good enough (I have no idea), well then the Sigma is 1.8 after all...
