Do you guys want to to see a a picture in DX mode or do you want to see how bad the vignetting is? Just trying to clearify, since I don't own an FX camera.

I can post some samples later....I'll do some in FX and DX mode.

*the vignetting is really bad though....I tested it when the D700 first joined my family..LOL!

Why waste money and pixels on mounting the Sigma 30/1,4 on a FX camera ?

Get a 50/1,4 sigma for it, and you have a very similar fov.

You are always helpfull Sonya.

Yes it is DX, but I also have a D40, and here the AF works, and if it works ÓK on the D700 it could be interesting to have it on the wishing list, and it is not so expensive for a fast lens (and probably sharper in the center than the Sigma 50)

Here is a self-portrait of your truely on a D3. It was at a company function under a red and white "circus"tent - horrible light for white balance!

Thank you Sonya - not bad - or is it the good photographer:smile:

Thank you, but these are just quick snaps to show the vignette....and neither girl wanted to be left out, LOL!

wonderful shots, sonya. i actually prefer the FX images with the vignetting, i think it enhances the pictures

I think sometimes that may be true, but I wouldn't want to play hit or miss with it being there all the time.
