Sigma Ring-flash

Discussion in 'General Technical Discussion' started by Harry S., Apr 11, 2005.

  1. Quick question: has anybody tried the Sigma EM 140 DG ringlight?

It is said to support iTTL so I am considering it over the SB29s.

    Any thoughts on this?

    Thanks and cheers

  2. Briefly tried it, was not impressed with the light as it was not very much evenly spread.

Much prefer my SB29s although a little more trouble to adjust

  3. Thanks Yves!

You more or less convinced me already. I consider macro-photography with ring-flash mostly manual work anyway. I guess once you found your ideal settings you don't really need iTTL.

  4. I just HAPPEN to have an SB-29B. Anybody interested? Email me directly.

I have the em-140. I'm not impressed either. I'm considering selling it to get a nikon.

I have been told that Nikon will have a new ring flash this summer.
