  1. Hi,

The signature (sigline) has traditionally been used to add reference (equipment list) or other information to one's messages. This "personal" side of the members is only one of the many unique facets of the Cafe which makes it the great place it is. Occasionally some signatures have grown to the point that they consume significantly more screen real estate than the body of the text itself making it cumbersome to navigate a long thread especially when the thread contains a lot of messages by a member with a large signature. The admin staff is making this format change to reduce the signature section size and style creep.

The following changes have been made to the Cafe signature policy:

Tagged (IMG) and motion images are no longer permitted; signature images, if desired, can be loaded into the Cafe server. They may consist of either text or images or both but the signature area itself is limited to a maximum height of eight lines of font size 3 or smaller text; blank lines are included in the count. Links are permitted but admin reserves the right to limit these types in the future.

The staff will offer assistance to anyone with questions or needing help adapting their signatures to the new format. Understandably these changes may take time therefore we hope to have the transition completed within two weeks. Your cooperation and patience is appreciated.

    Thanks, the Cafe Staff
