Last weekend we spent a few days in the Alpine region of Victoria here in Australia. The purpose of the trip was to enjoy and photograph the autumn colours.

A town not too far from where we were staying is called Benalla, which is getting a nice collection of Silo and street art. We didn't have a lot of time to spend in and around Benalla, but will ensure we do on our next visit. Currently there are four silo locations with art, we only managed to visit two, sixty three pieces of street art, plus a water tank in the local wetlands with three images on it.

The first silo location we visited has references to Anzac Day which was on April 25th.

Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders "who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations" and "the contribution and suffering of all those who have served". Observed on 25 April each year, Anzac Day was originally devised to honour the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps(ANZAC) who served in the Gallipoli Campaign, their first engagement in the First World War (1914–1918).

Very beautiful shots! I love them. Brings back fond memories for me. When I was in the US Navy, I was honored to have been asked to march along side the brave men and women of the RAS in rememberence on ANZAC day. I traded uniform items with so many people that day as we were both wanting to remember the experience. Absolutely awesome shots.

Absolutely amazing! (y)

Richard, it's an excellent series of pictures.
You've shot the art very well.

Kind regards
Klaus

Those are amazing paintings, and you captured them beautifully. Thanks for sharing these.

Those are simply amazing---and well captured too.

Thank you all for your kind comments. I'm glad you enjoyed viewing them. There are now a few Silo Art trails, and after seeing these we're going to make the effort to go and view the rest of these on this trail, plus visit a couple of the other ones. Unfortunately, there is quite a bit of driving involved, plus overnight accommodation, so we'll try to fit them in when we're not so busy with other stuff.

@Cslucas34, thank you for sharing your experience. While not serving myself, missed conscription (mandatory military service) to Vietnam by a year, I am forever indebted to those who do.
