Silvereye

These little Silvereyes are feeding on the grevillea flowers that are flowering here in Spring. They are continuously getting chased by the larger honey eaters.

Scientific name: Zosterops lateralis

I hope you are not about to run out of delightful birds to introduce us to! I am really enjoying the variety! The perch in this image really sets off this pretty little bird.

The eye in this image reminds me of a bird I photographed in Cape Town, South Africa. Are they related?
Thanks Karen, I had to do some reading up as they look very very similar. Ours are Zosterops lateralis and the one you shot is Zosterops japonicus very interesting to see how alike they are.
(Very nice website you have)

Thanks for the info! I'm not very knowledgeable on bird IDs....but the eyes looked so similar! I do try to accurately ID what happened to get in front of my camera! LOL!
