sky color discrepancies in NX vs. saving as JPG

Discussion in 'Nikon Capture and View NX' started by JMontes, Jul 15, 2007.

  1. Can someone explain this to me? Check out the screenshot. The left is the NEF, sky looks horrible. I tried to change the color but it didn't work out all to well. I changed the colorprofile to sRGB and saved as a JPG, and I got the beautiful color on the right image. Even without converting to sRGB I still get that nice blue color when saving as JPG. Why does my NEF look so horrible?

Here's a better shot showing the color difference. NEF on the left, saved JPG from NX on the right.

  2. Okay, so I got these a bit closer by setting my monitor's color management to Adobe RGB....I'm hoping that's the only issue. Seems to be the worst on a blue sky.
