I don't know how many of you read it, but Slashdot is my other favorite forum (although it's not nearly as friendly and civilized as the Cafe)

There was an interesting post and thread about the various photo sharing sites (smugmug, pbase, and others) and the paradigm of photo blogging and sharing of so many personal photographs with the rest of the world.

Slashdot is a techie forum, so there is also a lot of detail on the various APIs and technologies behind these sites, which is the reason I'm posting this to the Technical Discussion forum:

I accidentally slashdotted a website once. Caused them to reach their bandwidth limits within about an hour. Ooops! How was I supposed to know that their website was the only one to have an answer to a sweepstakes question I had created for my business.

Apparently every ham in the nation tried to download a pdf file from that site. I felt bad. Not really :)
