I was walking around today before the fire works and i noticed this bee. I poked him and he moved but it just seemed like it was stuck, so i tugged on its wing a little and it just went right back in.

I'm not an expert, but the bees on my deck garden exhibit this behavior after sunset and just before sunrise. I think they are in torpor until their bodies reach the correct temperature for flight. I have seen many of my bees nestled amongst the leaves of my passion flowers, zinnias, and dahlias.
