The bird's left wing might be closer to me and the focus was probably on the other one. I was lifting the camera while shooting because it happened so fast . I'll check the other frames.

Depends on EXIF...can't see shutter speed. It's possible that the left wing (right in frame) was moving faster at that point of the landing, creating some blur.

Thanks. Yeah, it's 1/640. Very slow for flapping wings. I broke one of Randy's rules...preserve shutter speed. My bad.
