A couple weeks ago I had the chance to get over to Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area to see the Snow Geese, Tundra Swans, and other migrating birds. It's always a treat to see and hear them take off all at once.

The crowds on the weekends are huge though, so it's a challenge, because some people enjoy spooking the birds. Sigh!

Anyway, just a couple of a massive liftoff. What's missing is the sound of thousands, or even tens of thousands of geese all taking off noisily at once. That's awesome. Maybe I'll get some video one day.

    Enjoy!

That is impressive, must have been a great sight seeing them all.

  3. Very well done. It's always such a sight to see hundred if not thousands of snow geese lift off at the same time. So often shots like these are not in focus which, in my mind, makes for not such an interesting photo, but yours are spot on.

Thanks, Roger, and Louie. I love just watching these birds. Almost forget to take photos because I'm enjoying them so much.

  5. Nice. It is always fun to be so close to a blastoff like this.

The sound is incredible. The part where they fly directly overhead is not so much fun.

    Bombs away!

  14. That is an amazing shot Glenn, ranks right at the top for bird pics I have seen. This is a wish it were mine shot, and I would have to have a huge print of it.
    Well Done.

So you've to send your camera equipment to the manufacturer for cleaning? :wideyed:o_O:yuck:

  19. Love the sound... hearing the wings as well as their vocalizations! And to see
them. Hundreds of thousands of these birds... the sight is so amazing...
