These folks intentionally dirtied the sensor on four camera models with built-in antidust systems (Canon XTi, Olympus E-300, Pentax K10D, Sony Alpha A100). They found that none of them worked really well.

    Not suprised at all

  3. Need to invent a way to put those little tear-offs on the sensor. Like Nascar or other race cars. LOL.

Or heck, build in a couple mini rocket blowers.

Interesting though. Maybe someday there will be an auto dust removal system (ADRS) that actually works.

    Or not????

  4. Wow after all that hype, and NUMEROUS people talking about how they wouldn't buy camera's without auto dust removal. Turns out it is just all marketing hype.

Hype is important. Sometimes it's better to want a thing than to have it.

  6. No better way to sell something than to convince people they need to have it. Create the need and it will sell itself.

  7. It's the lastest and greatest, NOT......

  9. What I want is a button that turns on that feature while you take a shot.
