Chris. Those are so good it hurts! Really good job! You're a great photographer

  3. Wonderful pictures Chris. I was surprised that matrix metering didn't blew the highlights on the sea rose shots with the dark background. With my D300 I think I would dialed in neg. exposure compensation on matrix metering on those subjects. Obviously the D3 metering is different here - or maybe just because of the bigger dynamic range of the camera?

Ino - thank you so much. For sure I don't deserve such words.

Daniel - yes, the metering is great, I came from Canon and D3 makes me feel in heaven.

    Joe - thanks a lot.

Great photos. I really like the skin tones of the shot of Jardim Botanico. Is that straight out of the camera color? If so, what picture control are you using?

    Hi Richard, thanks.

I shot NEF, converted using NX2, no adjustments on colours (WB) wich was set to AUTO on camera.

Using Neutral pic. control, contrast set -1.

    Regards

I want to know how you got that shot with 1/2000, f5.6, and ISO 500. What kind of light were you shooting in? It looks overcast to me, which, in my world, would be like 1/400 @ f5.6 and ISO 500.

Was it 100% natural lighting or did you use reflectors/diffusors of any kind?

    The shot is AMAZING!
