This should nicely compliment my 70-200mm f/2.8.

Home Run Set Up! Congrats!

I guess I need to step up my game.

I was hesitant to backshelf my D300 (still love it for birding) and move to the FX format....but I am tickled pink with the D700's performance. No going back now.

These 2 lenses....the D700....and a minute bit of talent on my part...will hopefully render some servicable pictures.

congrats! I love my 70-200, but never owned or used the 24-70; though, all i hear is GREAT things about it, i just prefer primes in this range

Now, you need to add the 14-24 to complete the holy trinity! BTW, I switched from D300 to D700 and I agree, "once you go FX, you never go back!"

don't undersell your talent, we know better:smile:

i tried the d700 for ospreys this week and used the 1.4tc to make up the lost reach and the difference is noticeable (c/o my latest post on the bird forum)

in your hands the d700 will rock

YEA! And you even straightened the "Nikon" word on the lens cap!

Hope to join you in a few $ cycles...
