Hi all,
This was my first time visiting this field...and I quickly found out that not only do these guys fly facing the sun, I was about to face the sun to take pictures! CC welcome :)

If you have never heard a 5 cylinder in flight, you don't know what you are missing!

These are excellent........ Wow. The first one, dropping the payload, is too cool.

These shots are awesome. And to think so many folks say the D300's AF is crappy. I realize it's no D3, but it's no slouch either. BTW, what AF mode were you using? Do you use the AF On button, or half shutter press?

Thanks! And yes I agree, the AF performance of the D300 is very, VERY good!
As for AF mode I shoot continues 51 point in A priority. I often had to go to spot metering because of the sun. Lots of these shots in the air, the fuselage was completely black.

Oh and I only shoot jpeg...most people would be amazed how correction can be done to a jpeg file...

Fantastic!

Post more RC shots!! I'm having a hard time keeping my rc plane in the air. It likes the ground too much.

Thanks for sharing!!!

Man oh man, these shots are awesome. Brings back memories of a time when I use to help a friend build these beauties. Of course, fifty odd years ago we didn't have radio control. We use to fly them using guide wires connected to a grip that we had to walk in circles with. Keep them coming. Well done!!!
