I walked out to the pier at Bear Point and this gull passed:

there were little green herons everywhere, they must have had a
large group of young that fledged. Caught this one at the right
    side of my viewfinder:

I went off the pier to go up the path some, then walking back I
looked on the pier and this osprey was sitting on the light that I
was earlier standing under. This is cropped over 70%:

On the way home I pulled over on A1A and was about 50-60ft away and
    shot this from the car:

I shot a bunch and when I got out of the car, he flew off. Seems
the car is the perfect blind. I can shoot from it and be close, but
step one foot out and bam, gone.

  4. Thanks Frank and Gale. Good thing I got out early, the rest of the day was overcast and rainy.

    Will post more soon.
  5. Great shots oh Osprey king, Love the greenie in flight that is on my list for next tip to FLA. Great series looks like a real productive morning i am jealous
  6. Well you know what I'm gonna say...

Come on down to sunny Florida, where big birds are plentiful, and I can usually find some :D  (except the one time you all came down :(  )

We'll get some when you come down Mike, they live here year round, and in the fall there is migration as well.

The osprey shots are awesome. I particularly like the one in flight and the potrait where he/she looking straight to the camera.

  9. Harris, that 2nd to last osprey shot is one of the best I've seen! Look at his eyes! Wow!

    Cool shots!

Love the 2nd to last Osprey shot, and the way it's looking right at you. The 1st shot is cool 'cause it's got that great pine branches in it that add to the composition. Man, I gotta get me a map, so I can figure out where this Bear Island is in relationship to my house.
