i lent my d2h to my brother since he was going to the event. he lost my eyepiece (second time it's happened on my d2h, despite the locking mechanism), but he did manage to get some good photos. it was the first time for him to handle the d2h. i think the last time he used an SLR was my EM back in the late 80's.

all photos taken with a d2h + tokina 28-70mm f/2.6~2.8

hi chris, dave and frank-

i'll pass the compliments on to my brother :)

he did some volunteer work for the scca on the previous days, with the tradeoff being he had the run of the track on race day itself. he was shooting where the press was shooting, even where the tv cameras were located.

he told me that on friday and saturday he saw a bunch of nikons, but on sunday it was mostly canons, or cameras with white lenses. he took a shot of one guy that was using a large format camera, can't imagine using one of those to take race photos!

and speaking of dirt, i had to give my camera a good blasting of compressed air to get rid of the dust (and probably tire bits) that had accumulated on it because of my brother's close proximity to the cars.
