During a large spring blizzard this week, a flock of 50-60 sparrows came into our yard. The majority of them are white-crowned, with a few golden-crowned mixed in. Fox sparrows and tree sparrows have also returned, but only in normal numbers for our area.

Nice shots. Never seen a Golden-crowned Sparrow.
Thanks Rich! Golden-crowned sparrows are fairly common on the coast at our house in Homer during summer months, but in the Alaska Range where we are now, they are uncommon. The large flock of sparrows that arrived during our most recent blizzard is still here, though the weather is now clear, so they could easily move on. Some of them appeared to be quite thin when they arrived, but they've been gorging on black-oil sunflower seeds here. There is lots of singing going on, so I'm really enjoying having them all here for now.
