spider feeding on dragonfly

Discussion in 'Macro, Flowers, Insects, and Greenery' started by bkaushik, May 22, 2007.

  1. This spider was chewing away a dragonfly which was nearly double of its own size!!! Once trapped, the spider rushes to its prey & stings it with its deadly fangs (the orange ones) injecting the dragonfly with venom. It quickly wraps it with its web further tightening its grip.
This photograph was taken before the spider wrapped its prey.

    Species' common name: Signature spider
    Location: Hebbal lake

  6. Very impressive the way the 70-300 works with a close up lens! A great shot and story!
