Sports Forum Challenge #38- In the Dirt

Discussion in 'Sports Photography' started by bvonarx, Sep 30, 2008.

  1. Wow, trying to come up with something we have not covered seems the new challenge, so I think we'll go with "In the Dirt". Post your favorite image of a muddy, sweaty, dirty athlete or an image that illustrates an athlete getting up close and personal with terra firma.
I'll pick a winner at or around 8pm EST, Sunday next. My humble example..

  2. This slide was the first one I thought of, although it may be cheating as I've used it before. I'll keep browsing the history books.

    Maybe more of Aqua Firma?

  8. Lukasz!
It's a great shot, and it proves the old addage, "if you're not the lead dog the view doesn't change!", man is that guy in second really "eating it"!

Boy, I wish I took more pictures in lousy weather conditions! These mud shots are excellent.

Here is mine, plus a few for fun. They represent contact with dirt more than dirt itself, so they're not ideal for the challenge but they're fun and I like them.

Love this because it's my son eating grass! LOL!

Again, this is more about contact with the earth than the dirt, but once again, I got a soccer player using the tried-and-true shirt pull technique. She pays for it at the end of the series when the other girl lands hard on top of her!
