I've just set up my website on a Pro Account with Smugmug, and I need some advice on how to go about spreading the word about it. So far, I've announced via e-mail to all of my contacts (asking them to spread the word), and I've printed business cards which I give out when someone approaches me while I'm out shooting. A friend of mine is also looking into the possibility of displaying a few of my images at a restaurant near his vacation home. I've looked thru Smugmug's "sharing" options and, frankly, they confuse me. (I may just be slow...). So far, the only thing that I've done was join one Smugmug community and activated a few of my galleries for that community. I don't really "get" social networking in general, so I haven't looked into that thru Smugmug. And I'm also not sure whether activating the Easy Sharing feature in Smugmug puts my images at higher risk of theft. (Perhaps someone can clarify that for me?) So, for you Smugmug users out there, what steps did you take to make your website known to the outside world when you were just starting out? Thanks!
