Critique St. Anthony, Newfoundland

Discussion in 'Wanderlust and Travel' started by gnagel, Sep 14, 2018.

  1. St. Anthony is located near the northern tip of Newfoundland. I spent two nights there...mostly because I was interested in visiting the nearby L'Anse aux Meadows. L'Anse aux Meadows is an archaeological site, a National Historic Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is the only authenticated Norse site in North America.

I will share my L'Anse aux Meadows photographs in a separate posting. The following images are from my time in St. Anthony itself.

6- Dr. Wilfred Grenfell statue...the name of Dr. Grenfell is still seen throughout St. Anthony. In fact, I spent two nights at the Grenfell Heritage Hotel and Suites. Dr. Grenfell was said to be the first doctor to reach the region. He would later establish a string of hospitals, cooperatives and schools for the people in this vast area. He initiated health care services for the more than thirty thousand residents in Northern Newfoundland and Southern Labrador.

    #2 and #5 are impressive!

  4. Thanks Karen, Dave and Nick...

This is one of my favorite kinds of photography--just walking the down the street and looking for things that catch my eye. It's usually colors and shapes!

    So, did you Screech

  6. #1, #2 and #11 are my favorites. Consider converting #7 and #11 to monochrome. Also possibly #5.

  7. Thanks Mike...and thanks for that suggestion.

  8. Cool set :D

#12 reminds me of my favourite quote from George Orwell:

"And so abideth Faith, Hope, and Money, and the greatest of these is Money."
