State Radio

  1. One of my favorite bands just happened to be playing on campus yesterday.

Pictured below is Chad Urmston, lead singer of State Radio and also a former member of Dispatch. I have a feeling most of the Cafe will be a bit old to know of these bands, but I still wanted to post a photo or two.

It was just very exciting to be able to photograph one of my favorite artists. I focused more on enjoying the show than taking photos, but here are two that I liked. Afterwards I got to meet him too, great experience.

  2. Great band and great shots. I really like the expression in the first one. Did he happen to use multiple guitars in the show including a paint thinner can guitar?

Awesome shot in the first one.

Any chance experimenting with color? Maybe black and white?

Might be tricky with the glare on the guitar.

  4. Thanks. He did have multiple guitars, including the paint thinner guitar

Here's one in B & W, what do you think? Kinda like it

Yeah I like the black and white.
Both are good, I guess there's just a thing about B&W that attracts my eye.

Was a big fan of their debut album. Kinda lost track of them after that...no particular reason why. Saw them play several years back, and they were quite good.

This thread makes me want to check them out again for sure!
