Stolen Gear

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Harry S., Jul 2, 2007.

  1. A good friend of mine (Joachim Gerstl, some may know him from DPR) had most of his gear stolen from his apartment in Vienna on June 18th.

I just post this here in case some suspicious gear might show up on ebay or elsewhere.

    Here's the list and ser.Nrs:

    Nikon D200 - SN. 4004375
    Nikon MBD200 - SN. 2004376
    Nikon AF-S 4/12-24 DX - SN. 213112
    Nikon AF-S 3.5-4.6/24-85 ED - SN. 89384900
    Nikon AF-S 2.8/70-200 VR - SN. 205902
Sigma AF 1.4/30 DC HSM - SN. 1004755
Tamron AF 2.8/90 Di Macro - SN. 7581
    Nikon SB800 - SN. 2184486
    Nikon AF-S TC 14E - SN. 215807
    Nikon AF-S TC 17E II - SN. 215807
    Jobo Giga Vu 80GB - SN. GIG000675
    Panasonic NV - GS280EG-S - SN. L5HL00474R
    Canon Ixus 700 - 9901A006AA

He still has his D2H and AFS 300/2.8 which were in a different backpack. Fortunately, they did not steal his computers (they could not resist the LCD monitors, though).

So if you come across something suspicious please PM me (one never knows).

Real tough hit there, real tough. Is there not a European ebay that is separate from US ebay? Most likely there perhaps?

Good that he has all serials, this will certainly help his hunt.
  6. Harry,
sorry to hear that. Is it ok for your friend if I would post the equipment list on the Nikon Fotografie-Forum in Germany?
  7. I'm sorry to hear this. I just don't understand some people.

  8. Darn... sorry to hear this. If I recall he also had equipment stolen about 3 years ago when he was on a trip, I think.

    Thanks for advising us.

  9. Ugh!!!

This brings back painful memories. My high end gear never surfaced. I hope he has better luck.
