    Hello,

I've already read about Lacie D2 Extreme and G-tech. Are there other brands who are splendid?

    What's your experience?

I want to buy an external drive ( 200 up to 400 gig).

    I prefer Firewire 400 (or/and 800) and USB 2.0.

    thx for charing your exprerience.

  3. External Storage

    Sven,

Of course, Maxtor and Western Digital also have external drives, and have a good reputation.

I'm using an Acomdata 250 GB outboard hard drive. So far, it works flawlessly (less than a year). It came with a USB 2.0 interface.

    Hope it helps.

You might want to check out The Other World Computing, they can put any size drive into several cases. Here are the firewire drives

  5. Hi Sven,

I have four Maxtor One Touch 300 GB external drives (USB). They work fine.

I think there are many good choices out there. LaCie, WD, Maxtor, etc.

    Good luck in your decision.

    Best wishes,

    David
