I often never know when to stop processing so a sanity check is in order.

Approaching storm front in the Absaroka Mountains.

This is really beautiful, Bill!
Stunning even.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't go any further. I suppose.
Hard to be sure without seeing the original.

That being said, I think the foremost important criterium is: do you like it.
Like my southern neighbours say: des goûts et des couleurs ne se discutent pas.
So, If you're not working towards something to sell, it's your taste you should follow.
If the processed image speaks to you, then you have reached your goal 🙂

Thanks Bart,

I do personally like this. I tend to maybe go too far with clouds from time to time. Easy to do with a contrast brush. The foreground is as is. The ir effect is just the default lightroom preset.

Powerful and beautiful, Bill. I don't know what you started with so it's hard to say where to stop, but this looks pretty great to me. Any time a photo can evoke a feeling of any kind I call it a winner. This evoked feelings immediately: awe and a little bit of fear.
