Strange behavior of "Finder"

Open Finder and go to preferences. Select Sidebar and make sure all options are checked under Devices. Not sure if that will help but it's a start.

Did you try to do an "arrange by"? I am guessing the icon is just behind another one in the folder. Right click the white space and try any of the "arrange by" options to see if it pops up.

As you see, the folder "Reunion" doesn't show in the icon view.

Bingo. That fixed it. I have been using this iMac for four years and I've never seen that behavior. But I used OSX 10.6.xx until a couple of weeks ago.

I have had it happen to me when I created a folder from the file->save dialog within an application. Somehow the location of the new folder can find its way to the same spot as another in the finder window. Does not happen often but its something to remember...
