Stuck at home

Well yesterday was my last work day and today I'm stuck in the house
waiting for some movers to show up. I have two different moves taking
place, this one I can only ship 1000 lbs and it goes by air. So it will be in
Idaho when I get there. I have a second shipment going in a few weeks
that's a big household stuff.

I guess it's not that bad, I get paid to sit around and wait for people to
come and do work. Plus I get to be on the Cafe a lot today.

Not bad at all Todd... you can also go "out there" and take any last photos... for your memorabilia album...

Hey Todd,

You and me in the same boat. But I'm moving 6 blocks down the street. I'm off to prepare for the move next Wednesday. I suspect you're a more accomplished mover in your profession.

Good luck. I'm off to the basement to pack boxes!

Todd,
It sounds like your move has begun.
I hope all goes well. Actually, you might see this as a subject to make a photo-documentary to look back at later in life. You know: the old place, moving activity, airports - departure, arrival, people situations, expressions, saying goodbye to friends etc., you get the "picture"? (pun fully intended :D )
Very best wishes for a great "homecoming" experience to you and yours.

Todd,

With internet cafes, internet in hotel rooms/airports/train stations, friends, etc., you should be able to make occasional visits to The Cafe during the month without a computer. With readily available Gmail accounts, you can access your full email from any computer with internet access. If you need a Gmail account, let me know.

Best of luck on the move

Did the similar- moved from London to NY. My "things" took 6 months, but I made sure I carried the camera gear since it was only a small film slr plus three lenses back then. What did you decide to do with your stuff?

Idaho?

That should be quite a climatic change.

I wish you luck in your move. My last and final move I came up several items short. Big hassle. Nothing super valuable but tools, firearm shoulder stock bracket and things of that nature.

I'm going light on underwear and socks and taking both the D2h and D70
pull the 17-35 28-70 70-200 TC and flash and the 18-70. I will ship the
D1x and film camera when my household good go.

The stuff that left today will be in Idaho July 1. My big household stuff
that gets shipped June 1 will not get to Idaho until the middle of Aug.

Good Luck with the move Todd. And good move not to trust your precious babies (the D2h and D70) to the movers.

Well if I see some guy wandering the streets with a few cameras draped around his neck, and lots of lens carriers, I'll bring him in for a warm meal and a bath!! Can't have these Cafe members homeless! *LOL*
Seriously, Todd. Wishing you all the best in your big move. Kinda stressful but yoou and your family will get through it. Good move in keeping your cameras with you.

Good luck Todd. Nothing like a PCS move huh? Did you photograph all your furniture; corners, table tops, artwork? Well, too late now. Cross your fingers. We always lost something or had furniture damage.

My most annoying loss was my graduation sword (Navy guys have to have them; just in case we encounter pirates....I guess). It was from my father, when I was comissioned. Probably on some dork's wall; bought at a swap meet or garage sale (car boot sale to you Brits :D )
