This past weekend I went on a couple of short trips with a group of friends down to London Thursday night, then to Bath on Saturday, and Saturday night and part of Sunday I split off to go see a friend from home that is studying in Oxford.

2. A photo from a pro-Brexit demonstration on Saturday morning. Being there to experience Brexit was a major reason we went last weekend, more pictures can be found in my thread about this demonstration and the Brexit party that night: https://www.nikoncafe.com/threads/brexit-day.320638/

3. After walking around the demonstration, we walked across the Thames in search of food and were happy to catch a glimpse of the only uncovered face of Big Ben at the moment.

4. We spent the rest of the day in the British Museum which was incredible, then went to the official Brexit Party at Parliament Square. Again, more pictures and comments can be found on my dedicated thread to it here: https://www.nikoncafe.com/threads/brexit-day.320638/. It was incredible to be there to both experience and document the event, especially as a student studying politics & International Affairs right now. Here, Brexiteers climb onto the Churchill statue that also appeared above.

5. The next day we took a day trip to Bath, this is the front of Bath Abbey. In the square opposite the Abbey, a street performer was playing Country Roads which was pretty funny but a nice reminder of home.

6. The Roman Bath's for which Bath is named, with the towns Abbey in the background. The baths are filled by the only hot spring in the UK (though this is disputed by Matlock Bath) and many of the structures on the site date back to the Roman conquest of Britain.

7. A view of the Abbey (the building with the prominent arched windows on the lower right side) and Baths (the domed building in the middle bottom of the frame) as well as the central part of town as seen from an overlook we hiked to.

11. On Saturday night I went up to see two friends from home in Oxford. One is studying in Oxford and one is studying in Barcelona but came up for the weekend. This is the Radcliffe Camera at Oxford (a very different kind of camera from those we are used to) which houses a science library.

It was a busy weekend but everywhere we went was great. Being able to witness Brexit and see more of London was awesome, Bath was a super cool day trip, and Oxford was fun and pretty too. I'm a little biased, but I would say if you're only going to see either Oxford or Cambridge to go to Cambridge. Oxford is still worth seeing but feels much more touristy and a bit bigger. Thanks for looking and let me know if you have any suggestions or ways I could improve!
