I like the first one. The second one doesn't fit with the shadows. (where it should be shadows it seems to be lit strongly).

Couple more bats might make it "better". :)

Charlie what a great photo!! You did very well putting the sun in the photo but I would also agree it doesn't need it to make the photo any better than it already is.

I'm like everyone one else, the first shot is great but I don't think that the sun helps in the second shot. It seems to be in the wrong place.

I agree....no sun...

The first image stands on its own merits....I really like the composition.

Thank you so much for your input. I liked the first image and my wife like the added sun. As you probably know, it is hard sometimes separating yourself from what you do and it is great having a resource like this to turn to.

By the way, the image is of Baltinglass Abbey in Ireland.

It doesn't really look like the sun, sorry. More like a flare.
But the first one is very good as it is!
